I have started feeling funny about the ways teams are winning in cricket matches. Host country ends up winning the series because of its acquaintance with the conditions there. The probability of winning by a host country increases with the winning of toss, as I understand, because most of the times captain talks about when (after how many overs) ball will start turning and all such things.
I wonder if anyone has thought about having synthetic pitches which would level the playing field for all 50 overs for both the teams. The pitch would be same no matter the country (host or guest). I do not know whether this idea is really worthy but cannot be ruled out just like that.
Why cricket, like tennis, should not have two types of cricket - one with natural pitch, one with synthetic pitch? Just a thought, point to really ponder about.
